Arts and Elements: A Global Fusion Camp (Grades 4-6)
University of Delaware · Newark
2027 dates not posted yet
The 2026 season ended Aug 7. Most camps post next summer's dates over the winter — we'll update this page when they do.
This camp celebrates art as a universal human expression, not one confined to a European lens. Each day spotlights a different region of the world, pairing traditional artistic practices with scientific exploration. Mornings focus on hands-on art projects inspired by cultural traditions. Afternoons build on those activities with scientific demonstrations or experiments tied to the same materials, techniques, geographic locations, or natural elements. Exploring activities like Shibori indigo dyeing and Alebrije-inspired papier-mâché, campers can look forward to getting messy with vibrant mate
Good for: Grades 4-6 (rising) who like making things AND seeing how they work. Mornings are hands-on world art (Shibori indigo, Alebrije papier-mâché); afternoons connect the same techniques to science demos. Better than a single-medium art camp for kids who get bored doing one thing all week.
