Questions parents ask
Where can I find a story time near me?
Start with the upcoming listings here or the Delaware Libraries children's calendar. Confirm the branch, age range, and registration on the event page; a program attached to a branch can meet somewhere else.
What ages are library story times for?
Most branches split by age — baby/lap-sit, toddler, and preschool story times — so there's usually one that fits. Check the event for the age it targets and whether it needs registration.
Is Newark Free Library open for story time?
The Library Avenue building is closed for a rebuild, with reopening planned for fall 2027. Check the event's actual location for off-site Newark programs, or choose another branch. Hockessin Library is closed Thursdays and Bear Library Fridays.
